Overall the service was very good. I would make one small point: undoubtedly there are many tasks to be completed in the process of conveyancing and often, inevitably, a customer wants things to move faster than they can do. But there are some things that seemed to be slower than is typical in other industries/businesses, e.g. use of regular mail service to transfer documents that could be emailed and then an original signed by the customer followed up as the "official" copy. I was surprised by how long the whole process took. At one point I didn’t realise you were waiting for information from me. Our matter appeared, to us, to be quite complex as it was something we had not taken part in before. Alison masterminded our new wills. Quite painless, apart from the bill. My wife feels that the frequent references to the "sadness" of the occasion were misplaced, and I have to agree. It is probably in the How to Do Wills manual, but we feel more relief and satisfaction than anything else, certainly not sadness. I can imagine circumstances in which sadness might predominate but I doubt if they are typical.

Excellence is much more easily recognised in complex, infinitely personal matters where outcomes are crucial. Carline and I worked in a very easy manner, which for me, going through a divorce I did not want, was very calming. Sometimes I was not very helpful to my solicitor, but this did not deflect her from her work. When all was settled, we were able to reflect on events and it was apparent that the other side did not win a single one of the battles.
