Bethan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives; fully qualified in 2006 and has been practising since 2001. As part of Bethan’s role within the conveyancing team, she regularly undertakes:

      For many young people, the dream of owning a home of their own in their local community, whether they grew up there or settled there can feel like a pipedream. With local properties being too expensive, often young people are forced to move out of their community to areas which are more affordable. Key workers for example can sometimes have no other option than to commute long distances to the communities they serve rather than being able to afford to live and settle in that community.

      To encourage the housing market to bounce back after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chancellor has announced a stamp duty holiday which will run until 31st March 2021.

      The lower Stamp Duty Land Tax threshold has been increased from £125,000 to £500,00. This means that any property purchases below £500,000 will not need to pay stamp duty as long as completion takes place before 31st March 2021.
