Couldn’t recommend our solicitor Sharon enough. Parkinson Wright were not the cheapest solicitor we could find, but by no stretch the most expensive either. We wanted a local solicitor, that knew the area and knew the housing association we were purchasing from etc as we were buying a shared ownership home. Our case was a particularly complex case from start to finish, as the house was on protected land which meant a lot of lenders wouldn’t lend to us. We had to get a second and new mortgage months in, but Sharon explained everything throughout and where some solicitors would turn a blind eye to things and the detail- she didn’t. Which actually gave us reassurance we were with the right person.
At one point we thought it wasn’t going to happen as the housing association wouldn’t budge on a specific point. However Sharon went above and beyond and contacted them directly several times and explained the situation clearly- and In the end this got us the go ahead we needed and we moved in eventually. We can hand on heart say that had we had a different solicitor we would not be in our house now, so we cannot thank Sharon and Parkinson Wright solicitors enough and would advise anyone local or not local to pay a little more and you get what you pay for.

Suzanne Oldnall was recommended to me by a friend. I came to Suzanne primarily because I'd been told that she had a great deal of experience dealing with domestic abuse and this is something I found that I needed as other solicitors simply didn't appreciate or understand where I was coming from. The reason for my needing Suzanne was due to my 11 year old son (who had been living with his father since aged 8) and I only been allowed limited contact, both my son and I wanted more but his father just would not allow this. Unfortunately the only way forward was to take this through the court process. To say this was an emotional roller-coaster of a ride is an understatement. Suzanne was there every single step of the way, she offered reassurance, compassion, understanding and comfort to me...Sharon her assistant was as equally supportive.... She listened to me as a friend when I literally did not know what to do and offered me advice and a shoulder to cry on. We had an awful report to contend with, recommending that my contact remain as it was even though my son told them he wanted to live with me. We had two court hearings by telephone, due to covid and we worked together on trying to decide whether to accept the decision to keep contact as it was or fight on. We chose the latter and took it to a final hearing...We had come this far after all. Suzanne recommended the most incredible barrister who was well... just how I'd expect a barrister to be... I had no idea how it would end up. After giving evidence, we took an hour out for the magistrates to decide. We entered back into the court room and waited for the magistrates to give us their decision.... To my absolute astonishment the magistrates granted me shared care .. I was absolutely ecstatic.... We did it... Everything we had been through for the past 6 months was worth it, the tears, the uncertainty, not knowing whether to give up, my brave little boy being too scared at times to stick up for himself... But he did.... And I say 'we' as I have felt every step of the way that it was not just my journey but that of Suzanne's and Sharon's too... I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that I would not be sat here today with my son if I had chosen a different solicitor's. I have nothing but gratitude for them both and of course to my incredible barrister.
