“High Street estate agents are not buried yet”

“High Street estate agents are not buried yet” so says Sophie Smith in the Daily Telegraph.

In September, Connells  shut down its online unit “Hatched” two years after acquiring it. Three months later EMoov collapsed into administration followed by House Network last month.  Now Purple Bricks has announced it is pulling out of Australia and has placed its US business under review.  Purple Bricks expects to achieve an 8% share of the UK estate market up from 5% but below the previous guidance of 10%.

There has been considerable criticism of online agents, and we at Moore & Tibbits frequently find clients coming back to us after experiences with online Solicitors.  They say to us “never again” and appreciate our professional and personal approach to property transactions.  When selling a high value asset like your home it appears that most people want a high level of service, not a low cost, low service alternative.
