Annual Care Conference 2019 | Our biggest one yet!

After months of preparation and organisation, our Annual Care Conference is completed for another year.

This year was our biggest conference to date – one venue, five speakers and 10 topics! With attendees joining us from Charities, Advocacy Services, Care Homes, information Services, NHS Foundation Trusts and Financial Advisers, there was great variety in the audience with lots of interaction.

Having carefully worked on the agenda to ensure that the most beneficial topics were covered during the day, our Specialist Health & Community Care Team discussed:

  • Mental capacity disputes
  • Inherent Jurisdictions, the flip coin of capacity
  • Safeguarding – the rights and wrongs
  • Finances and Property in the Court of Protection
  • NEW – Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017
  • Care Act 2014 assessments
  • Care Act 2014 – the big problem of finances
  • NHS continuing healthcare
  • Welfare issues in the Court of Protection
  • From DOLS to Liberty Protection Safeguards.

“As a team, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Care Conference. We feel so passionately about what we do, and these conferences give us the opportunity to share this knowledge and understanding with the people who are involved first-hand with the care sector. With legal updates and regulations changing so frequently, it can be difficult to ensure that you are always up to date which is why these conferences are so vital”  Debbie Anderson | Head of Health & Community Care Team
