The Mental Capacity (Welfare) accreditation is a recognised quality standard for practitioners who offer advice on health and welfare matters under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Sonal had to submit a detailed application, pass a training course and attend an assessment to achieve the Court of Protection approved accreditation.
Sonal says: “I am delighted to have achieved this accreditation. I have worked closely with vulnerable individuals and their families for many years, focusing on issues central to a person’s life, understanding and protecting their best interests. This accreditation provides my clients and future clients that I have the necessary wealth of experience and knowledge to represent them in this complex area of law.”
As an ALR, Sonal can be appointed by the court to represent vulnerable individuals who lack capacity without involving a litigation friend. She also continues to be instructed by the Official Solicitor who acts as litigation friend, advocates and represents family members. The ALR accreditation provides reassurance that Sonal has a high level of expertise in mental capacity law and experience of working closely with vulnerable individuals and their families.
Sonal has worked really hard to achieve this accreditation which demonstrates the high level of commitment and dedication she provides to her clients.
