Jaskieran Sandhu
Paralegal
I am a Paralegal in the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team, having joined in July 2022.
I completed my LLB Law (Hons) at the University of Birmingham in 2022 and was pro-active in being a Pro Bono advisor with Birmingham Law School.
My work involves assisting the solicitors with health and welfare matters such as:
- Health and welfare applications under Section 21A and Section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Community care and Care Act 2014 matters
- Matters under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court
- Forced marriages
- Matters which involve medical treatment
I also enjoy conducting legal research and working with the team to apply this to individual cases. I regularly travel to meet with clients and am skilled at communicating with people who have additional support needs, including communication difficulties. I am passionate about ensuring those who are vulnerable receive the care and support they are entitled to and their wishes and feelings are heard.
