At QualitySolicitors Palmers we endeavour to hire and promote staff on the basis of their skills and effort and not on gender or any other characteristic. We are required to publish data about our staff. However, this is required to be anonymous - you should not be able to identify any member of staff from the data. However, with only 10 members of staff there is a high risk that individuals could be identified so we have taken the decision to combine categories and/or to publish numbers in the groups 0-1, 2-3, 4-5 etc. and not to break down the categories by role or job description, except in the first section (where the information is published anyway). Information is updated every September.

Roles and gender

  • Partners (who own the firm) : 1 female, 1 male
  • Assistant Solicitors or similar role: 3 female, 2 male
  • Staff supporting fee earners: 1 female, 1 male
  • IT/HR/other corporate roles: 1 female
  • 2-3 persons have responsibility for managing the work of others.
  • Age, Gender, disabilities, background
  • We have 4 male and 7 female staff. 
  • 1-2 are aged 16-24; 2-3 are 25-34; 0-1 is 35-44; 3-4 are 45-54; and 2-3 are 55-64.
  • 0-1 consider themselves disabled. 0-1 have daily activities limited by a health problem or disability lasting at least 12 months. The rest do not.
  • 0-1 are of mixed or multiple ethnic groups. 8-9 are of a white background.
  • 9-10 went to UK state schools. 0-1 went to other schools. 3-4 went on to university to take a degree, and were the first generation of their family to do so. 4-5 went on to university to take a degree, and were not the first generation of their family to do so. 1-2 did not attend university.
  • 0-1 are primary carers for children under 18; the rest are not.
  • 0-2 look after, or support family members 1-19 hours a week; the rest do not.
