I qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and worked for a couple of firms in Leatherhead and Guildford for 10 years before setting up this firm with Lesley in 1992. Since then we have run the business with the aim to providing quality service to all our clients.
I'm a solicitor with a wide range of experience of property matters, including domestic and commercial property, divorce, commercial, disputes, wills, and lasting powers of attorney. I am a 'STEP Affiliate’ member. At the moment about 65% of my work is probate; 10% will drafting; 10% drafting lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection work; 10% administration of trusts and dealing with clients' affairs under LPAs; 5% related property matters. I also deal with commercial matters such as business leases from time to time.
I deal with a wide range of people; you might be stressed, grieving, suffering from Alzheimers, or you might be an experienced business owner with little time to spare. You might be some or all of these. Whatever your situation, my approach will be to understand the issues involved, advise you on the issues (with as much or little detail as you need to make a decision), and then execute your instruction quickly and without fuss.
In terms of expertise I have written a legal textbook and articles for the legal press, and have acted as an expert witness in conveyancing practice- expertise which may assist in your case.
My advice will always be honest and straightforward. If I don't think your plan will work I will tell you so. If it will work I will tell you what it will cost and how long it will take. If there is a dispute I'll do my best to settle it, but if we need to go to Court I'll make that happen.
In my spare time I am a cross country runner and build model narrow-gauge railways.
