What happens if I am charged with a criminal offence?

You will be charged if and when the Crown Prosecution Service (or CPS) believes they can prove you are guilty. Having reviewed the police investigation and evidence, the CPS will decide whether to refer the matter to court for trial.

Our expert lawyers can explain the charge to you and what it means. You will be advised on the possible defences or arguments that may apply. Part of our role is to share our expert opinion on what the outcome may be - and the likely range of punishments if you are found guilty and convicted. If appropriate we can also arrange for other experts who can challenge any forensic or scientific evidence relied upon. Whatever the situation, you can trust us to put the best possible defence in place for you.
