Caroline Mahoney

I qualified as a solicitor in 1991. I deal with wills, probate and powers of attorney; probate takes up about 60% of my time; wills 20%; and powers of attorney 20%.

Making a will is a serious matter, but it doesn't have to be difficult or frightening. I will take you through it step by step and help you write a will that is straightforward, clear, and easy for your executors to administer.

When you come to deal with probate- dealing with an estate of a deceased friend or relative, I can help you go through the paperwork and obtain the information we will need to get probate as quickly as possible. After that it's a matter of getting assets in and distributing them to the beneficiaries. Finally I will prepare an estate account which will provide a permanent record of the estate in case there is any query in the future.

Powers of attorney require sensitivity. I need to take extra care where the person giving it is perhaps frail, needing extensive care but who is nevertheless very much alive and with their own opinions.

On a personal level, I have two teenage children. My hobbies include mountain biking, horse riding and running.
