    Recent statistics show that there were 106,959 divorces in 2016 - an increase of 5.8% from 2015. The reasons behind this rise are unclear however it is a well-known fact that going through a divorce can be a stressful and emotional time. Therefore it is important to know where you stand within divorce proceedings and the process you are about to undertake. The divorce process is relatively straightforward and can take from five to six months if the divorce is undefended.

    The new European General Data Regulation (GDPR) will come into force on 25 May 2018, to replace the Data Protection Directive of 1995. It does not require national governments to pass any enabling legislation, and is thus directly binding and applicable. Its forthcoming introduction is intended to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union and is aimed at harmonising data laws across the European Union.
