    Millions of leaseholders are set to be given a new right to extend their lease by 990 years with a zero ground rent according to Housing Secretary Rt Hon Robert Jenrick’s announcement on 7th January 2021. This is a significant increase on the current statutory right which grants just 90 years to the existing unexpired term.

    These changes could save households thousands of pounds, whilst significantly improving the value and marketability of properties.
