Which employees are entitled to receive maternity pay?

To be entitled to statutory maternity pay an employee must have::

  • Worked for you continuously (full or part-time), for at least 26 weeks up to 15 weeks before the baby's due.
  • Average earnings at least equal to the lower earnings limit for National Insurance Contributions.
  • Given the notice of when they would like maternity payments to start.
