Can I claim compensation for my accident at work?

Your employer has the duty to provide you with a safe place and systems of work – the equipment that is provided must be safe and you (and your colleagues) should have received sufficient training to enable you to carry out your job safely. If you are injured because this hasn’t happened, you are likely to be able to make a claim.
Our advice helps make sure that you get the best outcome possible – for example, we suggest that you check your accident is recorded in the employer's Accident Book. This is an official record - so make certain you are happy with the way it is noted. If possible take photographs of whatever caused the incident (perhaps on a mobile phone) and also make a note of any witnesses to what happened.
