It shouldn’t. However it is understandable to be worried about how your employer may react to you bringing a claim for the injuries you suffered whilst at work. Your employment position is protected in law especially after you have been employed for over a year (two years from April 2012). Your employer cannot treat you differently because you are bringing a claim.
It is useful to know that the claim is usually negotiated with your employer’s insurance company – many find this reassuring as it means your claim is treated like a business transaction with the insurance company rather than a highly personal dispute with the employer.
