Can the Court of Protection help where there is a large award of injury compensation?
Yes they can.
The Court of Protection will arrange for a Medical Capacity Report to be prepared – this identifies the type of decisions the injured person can no longer make. It may be this requires you or a trusted solicitor to be appointed by the court to make those decisions on behalf of the injured person.
If you become the appointed Deputy we can help you understand your responsibilities – this includes the need for insurance, as all Deputies must have a level of security in place.
