Getting to know you - Amy Fraser

We have caught up with the next person lined up in our new series of posts on our blog - 'getting to know you'. Each month we'll be catching up with one of our lawyers, and asking them 10 questions, about themselves, the law and their favourite things.

Next up is Property Paralegal, Amy Fraser.

1. What is your favourite part of the job?

We play a game in our department, originally entitled, ‘The House Price Game’. We take it
in turns to guess the prices of new properties that we are instructed on, and each put in our ‘sealed bid’. The light competition certainly helps with our knowledge of house prices and keeps us up to date with what is selling, where, and for how much!

2. What made you choose law?

I have always been interested in problem solving, and no matter what area of the law you go into, there will always be problems to solve. I love how the law has thousands of technicalities and loopholes to understand and explore, and how the use of the English language can completely change the meaning from one case to the next.

3. How long have you been with the firm?

I joined the firm in August 2017.

4. What’s the most memorable case you’ve worked on?

Because I’ve not been here long, and because I’ve not worked in Conveyancing before, I’ve enjoyed just getting familiar with the way the processes and systems work.

5. What do you enjoy outside of work?

Eating. Sleeping. Waking up and eating some more!

6. What’s your favourite food?

Truffle macaroni cheese. And roasted parsnips. And trifle.

7. Favourite season?

Summer! (As it = gin on the beach!)

8. What is your favourite word?

9. What did you want to be growing up?

A doctor. Casualty is still my guilty pleasure.

10. What is your best joke?

Q: What do you call a Judge with no thumbs?

A: Justice Fingers.
