What to do if you have been paid incorrectly?

Your employer has an obligation to pay you what you’re owed and to pay you on an agreed payment date. You can challenge your employer if:
  • You have not been paid
  • You have been underpaid
  • You have had wages deducted, and you don’t agree with the reason

If you’ve been paid incorrectly, you should check your contract and payslips and notify your payroll, who should pay you straight away. If they don’t rectify the problem, you can take legal action against them. It’s advisable to speak with your union representative or a legal professional as soon as possible, but to continue working so as not to break your contract.
